In Touch Care Ltd was launched in September 1994 by the Executive Director/ owner Jo North. Jo has 45 years of experience in Nursing and Nurse Education operating prior to In Touch Care Ltd as the Director of Nurse Education in Doncaster and the Assistant Principal of Sheffield and North Trent College of Nursing and Midwifery.
Currently In Touch Care have 43 staff operating primarily in 3 teams
- The Work Based Learning team have many years of experience working in a care environment. The team comprises of 18 Practice Based Supervisors who continuously assess learners in the workplace.
- The Schools in South Yorkshire team are currently teaching in 9 schools the BTEC Health & Social Care programme to Y10 pupils who attend classes in our head office in Sheffield.
- The Skills for Life team are available to supplement any learners understanding of basic skills .
In Touch Care Ltd has been recently inspected by OfSTED. At the inspection in June 2007, In Touch Care received grades of, grade 2 in Care, grade 1 in Leadership and Management, grade 2 in Quality and Equality and Diversity.
In Touch Care Ltd focus highly on Quality Assurance and gained ISO9001 status in August 1995, Investors in People Status in July 1995 and Investing in Quality in October 2002. All these quality assurance mechanisms have been monitored by surveillance visits and excellent reports have been received. It was a great privilege to be the first Training Provider to gain the Leadership and Management, Investors in People status in July 2004 and at this time In Touch Care Ltd was the third only company in Yorkshire and the Humber to receive this status. On the 14th February 2005 In Touch Care Ltd was assessed against the ‘Putting the Customer First Standards.’ – again a pleasing report received. Currently In Touch Care Ltd are working towards two other Kite marks, namely Community Mark and the SFEDI new Standards. In November 2004 In Touch Care Ltd was named as one of the Providers involved in the South Yorkshire CoVE in Health and Social Care.
The Executive Director is proactive nationally, regionally and locally within the Care Sector. Nationally involvement includes OfSTED work, working as a Consultant for Health and Social Care in the DfES Standards Unit and Chairing the Care Sector National Group for the Association of Learning Providers (ALP). The Executive Director also sits on the Regional Training Committee and the sub-group for Skills for Care and is on the Apprenticeship Steering Group and the Foundation Degree Programme steering group for Skills for Health.
